Uchicago Germanic Studies alum Tamara Komatovic works in the field of teaching and technology throughout East Central Europe and the Global South

University of Chicago Germanic Studies alum, Tamara Kamatovic, Ph.D., works as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Yehuda Elkana Center for Teaching, Learning, and Higher Education Research named after the first rector of CEU, Yehuda Elkana.

She teaches and mentors "global teaching fellows" at institutions throughout East Central Europe and the Global South (Al Quds, Palestine, AUCA in Bishkek, etc.). She is organizing a workshop series on teaching inclusively, having recently finished a workshop in Bulgaria on teaching students with disabilities. She will be in Kyrgyzstan at the end of April, 2023 to work with colleagues on student-centered teaching.

Tamara's research in this field has lead her to write articles to be published on the subjects of democratic teaching in an online modality and teaching and technology.
