How to Theorize Artistic Action? A Compact Seminar with Judith Siegmund and Florian Klinger

What is artistic action and how can we think about it philosophically? The seminar seeks to make sense of artistic action within contemporary aesthetic debates as well as practical contexts of artmaking. We’ll discuss recent publications by Judith Siegmund together with examples from contemporary artists such as Sondra Perry (US), and the collectives Wakaliwood (Uganda) and Ruangrupa (Indonesia).
